Mileage verification, vehicle incomplete, complete and completed, sources of information

What are the possible outcomes of mileage verification for Belgian vehicles?

When you check the mileage, there are 3 possible outcomes:

- Mileage reliable, when the mileage is higher than that registered in the available sources.

-Not confirmed, when the result of the verification did not allow to confirm the reliability of mileage. Possible reason: Not enough information available to verify the mileage.

-Mileage unreliable. Possible reason: At least one mileage readout registered in the available sources is higher than the one which is being checked.

What is the difference between an incomplete, complete and completed vehicle?

- An incomplete vehicle is a vehicle which should undergo at least one more step of completion in order to meet the legal requirements and become fully usable. An incomplete vehicle is not registered (this may be e.g. the underbody of a truck).

- A complete vehicle is a vehicle which does not require completion to meet the technical requirements. You can make constructional changes which will need to be type approved (such as addition of extra seats in a van).

- A completed vehicle is a vehicle which has been modified but received a multi-step type approval so it is proven to meet the technical requirements (such as a body modification in a truck).
